Around this time, 8 years ago

My first career move, from luxury into the unknown. In 2017 I took my first sabbatical, or mini retirement as I called it, inspired by the 4hour work week. A leap into the unknown, from a well established, polished, friendly, stable, known, and all other adjectives you can think of for a solid luxury group like Richemont. My ultimate end goal, working in luxury for a French (or Swiss, that I didn’t mind that much) luxury group. My family, as we called our Panerai colleagues, as it truly felt like a warm environment to have your second growing up phase in. Why did I leave?

I remember the summer of 2017. Doubting, but enjoying. Scared, but proud. Confused, but trusting. August 2017 was the time I was starting my interviews, after a summer break of soul searching, relaxing, detaching. I wish my calendar was still going back that far, so I could look up when I had my first interview at Coty, the company I would work for, for the upcoming 5 years back then. From stable luxury to cosmetics, the entry price product of luxury (or can you still call cosmetics entry price for a 160 euro Louis Vuitton lipstick?

I’m on the verge of another new start, another change, one I’m happily talking about this time to inspire others. What gave me the confidence to belief again I can change scenery. What helped me finding that spark back in work, after the rough year I had. What brought me back to this happy feeling I’m experiencing now, for the exciting things to come (trust me, it’s looking magical).

I’m getting ready for a new start, a fresh new season.
